Extracting, sculpting, smoothing and polishing: these are the activities through which the marble worker makes visible the “face” of the marble, hidden and preserved over time.
The exhibition aims to explore the surprising qualities of natural stone, which emerge as true epiphanies during the various stages of processing. Technological evolution, with continuous progress both in the processing of the solid stone and in the surface finishing, has led to an increasingly higher level of quality, revealing new aspects of this ancient material.
Too often, stone is considered a heavy, cold and opaque material. Yet, if worked with mastery and, sometimes, with innovative and extreme techniques, it can reveal unexpected characteristics.
Through exclusive projects by international designers and architects and special processes, the exhibition aims to surprise the visitor, highlighting the extraordinary potential of stone and encouraging the sector to experiment and maximize the qualities of this fascinating material.

Natural stone is a fragment of geological time waiting to be interpreted by the human spirit. When procesed, together with technology, design reveals the dormant form by manifesting it as an epiphany. The composition emerges from the dialogue between the physical limits of the material and the mathematical freedom of parametric design. This project goes beyond sculpture by coming forward as a new approach to design with stone where numerical technology, can become a strategic agent combining precision with emotion.
